  • WHAT IS LIVE GUEST PORTRAIT painting/DRAWING? WHAT IS THE PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

    Artist, Manzi Liu, will draw your guests during your event. I will do a quick sketch of your guests, paint with watercolor or acrylic color pen, they can watch me draw or come back later pick up their portrait drawings. The drawing will be in a seal clear bag before they take home.

  • What is the different between 2 styles?

    Besides type of artistic style and material different, the main different is how long it takes to paint/draw. Watercolor with facial features, approximate 12-14 illustrations per hour. Acrylic color pen without facial features, approximate 16-18 illustrations per hour.

  • Is the Price different between 2 styles?

    No. I charge hourly package, that means the price is depends on how many hours you book for the event, not the style of the drawing.

  • I really like the Watercolor with facial features and I have a big wedding. I also want all the guests to have their portrait painted/drew as their party favor, what should I do?

    Yes, there is a solution. You can book me for the maximum hours at the wedding, from cocktail hour to the reception. This way, I can paint or draw as many guest portraits as possible. For guests who haven't been painted or drawn during the event, I will take a picture of them and create their portraits at my studio. (An additional studio fee will be applied.) After completing all the portraits, I will mail to you (shipping will be included for one package within the US). Yow will receive your package within 2-3 weeks within the US.

  • HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK YOU?

    I suggest reaching out 3 months - 1 year before your wedding date. I have limited spots open each month and once a date and/or month is booked, it is no longer available. I follow a first booked, first served basis where your contract and deposit must be completed to secure your spot. If you just know that I am exist 2 days before your event, still fill up the inquire and email me, who knows I might be available.

  • HOW MANY HOURS SHOULD YOU BOOK?

    I require minimum of 2 hours. I will be at the wedding at least 30 mins before your book time to set up the space. It depends on how many guests at your wedding. I understand no every single guest want a custom portrait, I will suggest at least 60-70% guests can have their portrait done.

  • DO THE GUESTS NEED TO STAND THERE THE WHOLE TIME WHILE YOU DRAW THEM?

    No, most people don’t feel comfortable to stand that 5-10 mins without moving. Your guests will post then I take a picture and draw from the picture. They are welcome to leave and come back later or hang around as I draw their portrait live. However, if they want to see me draw live, they are more than welcome to stay and watch me draw. I love meeting people and chatting with your guests.

  • WILL YOU TRAVEL?

    Yes, travel fee might required. An accurate quote can be provided before booking.

  • WHAT WILL WE (THE HOST/GUEST OF HONOR) NEED TO PROVIDE?

    Please provide a table with 2 chairs. The best type of table to work on is long but not very wide table, because the guests can get closer to watch me draw also the table has enough space to display the finished drawings. However, I can also work on smaller or round table, not less than 3ft long is better. If this is your wedding, your cocktail hour is located in a separate location of the reception, I require a table to be set up in both locations.

  • WILL YOU paint or DRAW THE HOST/GUEST OF HONOR?

    Of course I will if you come up to me for a drawing. However, I highly suggest you to add on a package from $150 to $300 that offer drawings of you (the guest of honor/bride and groom). This allows you to interact and be super present on your special/wedding day with your guests! The drawing is based on a picture perfect moments from your special/wedding day. The drawing is in a more refined, detailed, and with my art unique style on a 9 x 12 inches watercolor paper which are bigger than the guest portrait drawing. You will receive this memory package within 2 weeks of wedding day.

  • DO YOU HAVE LIABILITY INSURANCE?

    Yes, Manzi Liu Art has standard liability insurance covering up to $1M.

  • HOW DO I BOOK YOU FOR MY EVENT?

    1st, you will begin by filling out the inquiry form. I will respond to you by email usually within 24-48 hours.

    2nd, I will schedule a 15-30 mins Zoom call or Phone call with you. On this call, I will get to know your event and answer all your questions. If you don’t need a call conversation, you can simply reply to my email to ask any questions and to confirm your booking.

    3rd, you will receive an email with an E-contract to sign, an invoice of a non-refundable 30% deposit, and instructions on how to pay. Please note, your day is NOT securely booked until you sign and pay.

    4th, after you have booked, 4 to 2 weeks before the event, we will confirm your booking by email. You can also email me back with any things I need to pay attention to at the event. We will schedule a 2nd call. Again, If you don’t need a call conversation, you can simply email me if you need anything.

    5th, you will receive the remainder of the payment after our confirmation email. Please note that the payment must be completed two weeks before the event. A failed payment might result in a failed booking.

    6th, I will paint live at your event.
